"When I first started working with Justus, it didn’t feel like I was just hiring someone to shoot my film. Long before we discussed what camera we’d be shooting on or what cool shots we might try to get, Justus spent weeks grilling me about THE STORY. What were the themes of the film? What were the character’s motivations? What were MY motivations? What feelings or ideas did I want the audience to be left with as they walked out of the theater? Deeper and deeper he probed, often forcing me to answer questions I hadn’t even thought to ask on my own, until Justus understood the story as intimately, if not more so than I did. Only then did we begin to look at how we might use the tools of cinematography to achieve those goals and elevate the story we wanted to tell.

On set, his influence was felt even more strongly. Always a calming and motivating presence however, Justus ensured that we stayed true to our vision for the film, and that the focus consistently remained on those key emotional elements we’d discussed in pre-productionI can honestly say that his influence can be felt in every single frame and moment of that film.

when you hire Justus Page as your DP, you’re not just getting a cinematographer. You are gaining a true collaborator, an artistic partner who at their very core is what we all wish to be; A Genuine and Masterful Storyteller.

"Whether inside or outside the film industry, justus is one of the best people whom I've had the pleasure of working with. As a cinematographer, he diligently studies the script, ensures he fully understands the director's vision, and creates both sophisticated lighting/color schemes, and stunning camera imagery to best bring the story to life. His wealth of experience allows him to deliver good, spontaneous, budget-saving suggestions onset, and he never interferes with direction. As a person, Justus is a pleasure to have onset. He's hard-working, funny, and easy to get along with. I look forward to working with Justus again, and highly recommend that anyone who wants their film to look its best and their sets to run smoothly do the same."
-Steven Ford, Director
"The number one reason to get Justus on the job is because he cares. He cares about doing good work. He cares about making the team feel welcome and comfortable. He cares about making his directors' dreams a reality. Justus doesn't view filmmaking as a job, but as a vital means of human expression. Time and time again, Justus pulled out all of the stops to make the project a reality, even when we hit roadblocks and had to reschedule."
